About

Erin is a Certified Centered Riding® Instructor and the founder of Pas de Cheval Horse Rescue. She has an extensive background in rehabilitating and retraining off the track thoroughbreds. Erin uses natural horsemanship and classical dressage techniques to help horses find balance in body and mind.

She began her journey with horses at a young age, training and competing in dressage while simultaneously studying and practicing classical ballet. As a teenager, she was accepted to the School of American Ballet where she trained throughout high school. She then proceeded to dance professionally for more than a decade.

When Erin retired from ballet in 2015, she moved back to New Mexico and started Pas de Cheval Horse Rescue which became a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 2017. More than 40 horses have been rehabilitated and retrained through the program.

Pas de Cheval is a French term for a ballet movement that translates to “step of the horse.” Drawing many parallels between ballet and horses, she has developed a unique approach and keen eye for training both horses and humans.

She has continued her professional studies over the years by becoming a Certified Centered Riding Instructor and is always learning from a wide variety of other instructors, clinicians and professionals.
